Outing with Elderly :)

Hello, there is an upcoming event with Yuhua WEC Happy Cycling Team (Non-profitable).

The team had organised an annual outing for the Bo Tian Temple Elderly Home.

For your information, most of the elderly require a one-to-one attention during the trip as they are wheel-bounded. Transportation and lunch will be provided.

Venue: Marina Barrage
Time: 7am - 3pm
Date: 5th July 2009
Meetup Venue: Block 321, Jurong East St 31 (Happy Cycling Storeroom)

8-10 Volunteers are needed for this event.

CCA Points will be awarded.

Event: Shan You Concert 2009 (An event to raise funds for more needy people out there!)

Date: 25 July 2009 (Saturday)

Venue: Hong Lim Park (Beside Clarke Quay MRT Station)

Target Audience for concert: Middle Aged to Elderlys

Ticket prices: $15 (Free Seatings); $50 & $100 (Allocated Seats)

We need as many ushers as possible to control the huge no. of crowd.

“Project C.A.N. VI”

Hey members, there is an upcoming event coming up, where we will be helping NUS Community Service Club with a project called: Project C.A.N.(Collection in Aid of the Needy)

In this project, we will be collecting and giving can food to needy families who receive financial aid under the government's Public Assistance Scheme.

There will be four phases in this project: C.A.N. Collect, C.A.N.Challenge, C.A.N. Sort and C.A.N. Distribute.

C.A.N. Collect is whereby we will be going door to door of HDB flats to collect can food.

C.A.N.Challenge is whereby we will set up booths in major supermarkets to ask the public to buy can food from the supermarkets and donate the can food to the beneficiaries of Project C.A.N. VI.

C.A.N. Sort is whereby we sort out the items according to the requirements of the beneficiaries.

C.A.N. Distribute is whereby we will distribute the canned food to the needy families. We hope that this project can be a platform for students from different institutes to come together to interact as well as to experience the joy of giving.

We need 10 helpers for C.A.N Collect on 18th July 2009.
Timing and Location will be confirmed again.

Important Informations for Camp

Yo members! We will be meeting next week for our FO Camp! Excited? Before that, i've to inform you guys some important matters first.

1. Indemnity Forms/ Pay Camp Fees
Okay, have you confirm your attendance?

If yes, we would need you guys to hand in your: Indemnity Form, Registration Form and also, your $15 Camp Fee during Pre Camp, 13th May.

2. Pre Camp - 13th May

Meet us at T11A at 3pm. Attendance is compulsory!

What we will be doing on that day?
-Camp Briefing,

-Collect idemnity forms, camp fees,

-Ice-breaking sessions + Groupings

(Forms can be downloaded at the side bar / taken from our club house)

Please Note: ** On the camp day itself, we will proceed to our activities straight away (No more ice-breaking). Thus, ice-breaking will be only held on 13th May, Wed. Hence, it's very important for you to be present on this day.

*Remember to bring your forms & fees :) Everything will end at around 6pm.

3. Camp 15-17th May
Curious about what we will be doing? Well..I can't reveal much, but there will be nightwalk, Sentosa games, performance night and water games on the 2nd and 3rd day! So make sure you bring enough clothes to change yea :D (Oh we will be giving you Free Camp T-shirt too!)

At the moment, you can print out the idemnity form first. It's at the right hand side bottom, under links.

In case you're wondering, yes, you gotta be present on both Pre Camp, and Camp :) See you soon!

Hello Freshies!

Not sure which CCA to join? It's alright! You can join as many CCAs as you want in Polytechnic. So, you can consider signing up for our 3D2N Camp first and decide later if you really like to join our Club! Just give it a try first yeah? :)

Why Welfare Services?

It's event based! Which means, it's flexible and you don't have to commit!

We will email you if there is any upcoming events. And if you're interested w the event, you can head down to join us @ the event, and if you're not, you can just give it a miss! :)

+ CCA points awarded for every event you participate in.

1) Please note that the next meeting is on 7th March (Sat) at the club house. You will be notified again after the timing has been confirmed.

SP Enrolment Day Event (for Members) :
From 10th to 16th of March.

WSC need people to be stationed at our club counter. If anyone is interested, please email Terry by Saturday. Your job is to look after the counter only. We need a lot of helpers because this is an important event. Thank you.
